The brand graphic puts six ingredients up front: chromium picolinate, gymnema, African mango, green tea, maca and Panax ginseng. The label adds 17 more.

Sugarreset drops list 23 active ingredients per 1 mL serving. One is chromium, a trace mineral with its own amount. A single 200 mg proprietary blend holds the remaining 22.

The blend mixes plant extracts, two natural caffeine sources, a licorice compound and eight amino acids.

Every name on this page comes from the Sugarreset Supplement Facts panel.

Blend math

How do 22 Sugarreset ingredients share 200 mg?

A proprietary blend shows one total. The split stays private.

They split one 200 mg blend, and the label does not say how. A proprietary blend lets a maker list the total weight without the amount of each part.

Simple division gives a rough guide. 200 mg across 22 ingredients is about 9 mg each per 1 mL. Two droppers double that to about 18 mg. None can be very large when 22 share the space.

Blend math if the 22 ingredients were split evenly

Daily amountBlend totalAverage per ingredient
1 dropper (1 mL)200 mgAbout 9 mg
2 droppers (2 mL)400 mgAbout 18 mg

Headline ingredients 1–3

Sugarreset ingredients for the metabolism theme: gymnema, chromium and African mango

The three ingredients most linked to the Sugarreset label theme.

Green leaves beside a bowl of fine green-brown herbal powder
Gymnema sylvestre is a woody vine from India. Photo is illustrative.

Gymnema leaf extract

Gymnema is a climbing plant used in Ayurvedic practice for centuries. Its Hindi name, gurmar, means sugar destroyer, because chewing the leaf briefly dulls the taste of sweet foods.

A review of 10 small studies found standardized gymnema extracts lowered fasting and after-meal glucose and HbA1c in adults with type 2 diabetes (Devangan et al., 2021). A typical studied dose is 400 mg three times a day (LiverTox, Gymnema). Read more in our gymnema explainer.

Chromium (as chromium picolinate)

Chromium is a trace mineral that helps insulin do its work. It is the only Sugarreset ingredient with a stated amount: 0.7 mcg per 1 mL, or 2% of the 35 mcg Daily Value (NIH ODS, Chromium).

Chromium picolinate is the form used in most trials. Those trials gave 200 to 1,000 mcg a day (Onakpoya et al., 2013 (chromium)).

Green wild mango fruits hanging on a tree
African mango, or Irvingia gabonensis, grows in West and Central African forests. Supplements use the seed, sometimes called the dika nut.

African mango seed extract

The seed of this wild mango is high in soluble fiber and fat.

One small trial gave 150 mg twice daily for 10 weeks and reported lower weight and fasting glucose than placebo (Ngondi et al., 2009). A later review judged all such trials to be of poor quality (Onakpoya et al., 2013 (African mango)).

Headline ingredients 4–6

Green tea, maca and Panax ginseng in Sugarreset drops

Two familiar foods and a classic herb round out the six.

Fresh green tea leaves on the bush
Green tea comes from the same Camellia sinensis bush as black tea. The leaves are steamed or pan-fired to keep them green.

Green tea leaf extract

Green tea extract carries catechins such as EGCG plus natural caffeine.

The NIH rates its weight effect as small and uncertain (NIH ODS, Weight-loss supplements). In Sugarreset it is also one of two caffeine sources, along with guarana.

Maca root powder in a glass bowl next to whole maca roots
Maca is a root vegetable from the high Andes of Peru.

Maca root extract

Maca is a cousin of the radish and has been eaten as food in Peru for generations.

Research has looked at maca mainly for sexual function, at 1.5 to 3.5 g a day, with limited results (Shin et al., 2010). It has not been studied for blood sugar.

Dried ginseng roots on a dark tray
Panax ginseng is the Asian or Korean ginseng plant. Most research uses the dried root; Sugarreset lists an aerial extract.

Panax ginseng aerial extract

Panax ginseng is a slow-growing herb from Korea and China. Aerial means the parts above the ground, such as leaves and stems.

A review of 16 trials found a modest drop in fasting glucose, with no clear change in HbA1c or insulin (Shishtar et al., 2014). The NIH calls the overall evidence conflicting (NCCIH, Asian ginseng).

The base is typical for liquid supplement drops. See liquid drops vs. capsules for why liquids need them.

Xylitol is the one item to watch at home. It can cause gas at high intakes (Lenhart & Chey, 2017), and it is toxic to dogs even in small amounts. Store the bottle out of reach of pets.

Which Sugarreset ingredients should you check with a pharmacist?

Four ingredient groups worth a quick medicine check.

Guarana and green tea

Both carry caffeine. Count them with coffee, tea and energy drinks.

Gymnema, chromium, ginseng

These may add to diabetes medicines. Ask your doctor first and never change a dose on your own.

Grapefruit extract

Grapefruit can change how some statins and blood pressure drugs work.

Licorice compound

Glycyrrhizin in large amounts can raise blood pressure.

Bring the full label to your pharmacist. For how these may feel day to day, see the Sugarreset side effects page.

FAQ

Sugarreset ingredients questions

How many ingredients are in Sugarreset?

The label lists 23 active ingredients. Chromium has its own line at 0.7 mcg per 1 mL. The remaining 22 sit together in one 200 mg proprietary blend. Nine more items, such as glycerin and stevia, form the liquid base.

How much gymnema is in each Sugarreset dropper?

The label does not say. Gymnema is one of 22 ingredients sharing a 200 mg blend. An even split would give about 9 mg per 1 mL, far below the 400 mg doses used in studies.

What is monoammonium glycyrrhizinate?

It is a salt of glycyrrhizin, the sweet compound in licorice root. It adds sweetness and a licorice note. In large amounts glycyrrhizin can raise blood pressure, which is why it is worth a pharmacist check.

Does Sugarreset contain caffeine?

Caffeine is not listed as its own line, but guarana seed and green tea leaf are both natural caffeine sources. The amount of caffeine per serving is not published. If coffee makes you jittery, take the drops early in the day.

Is Sugarreset sweetened with sugar?

Sugar is not on the ingredient list. The drops use stevia extract (Reb A) and xylitol, with organic lemon extract and natural flavors for taste. Glycerin, which also tastes a little sweet, is the main base.

Is Panax ginseng in Sugarreset the root or the leaf?

The label says Panax ginseng aerial extract. Aerial means the parts that grow above the ground, such as leaves and stems. Most ginseng studies used the root, so keep that in mind when you read research.
